Notes: Kasimir Fajans (1887-1975) is best known for the radioactive displacement law. "Displacement" refers to the way an element is transformed or "displaced" in the periodic table if it emits an α particle ("displaced" or moved two elements to the left) or β particle ("displaced" one place to the right).
