Notes

• I wrote this dance while I was preparing to call for the Toronto English Country Dancers in December 2008. The trip from Syracuse to Toronto requires one to travel halfway around Lake Ontario, and it is about the same distance whether one goes clockwise or counterclockwise. The short "trip" in this dance has corners travel halfway around their minor set into each other's place; first corners go anticlockwise and second corners (later) go clockwise.
• B1: The neighbors' back-to-back should flow into the half poussette with just a bit of reorientation from neighbor to partner. In each couple, the first-corner person begins the half poussette by advancing.
• There are a few opportunities in this dance to let one figure flow into the next. For example, the dancers traveling half-way around the set in the A part should not stop in their corners' place, but keep moving into the back-to-back. The neighbors' back-to-back connects to the half-poussette with only a quarter-turn of orientation from neighbor to partner. And couples can keep hands joined from the half poussette into the two-hand turn.
