A1: The chevron figure involves a pair of dancers crossing the set diagonally (in this dance on the second diagonal), passing right shoulders, and backing up straight across the set. Thus each dancer ends one place up or down on the same line from which he or she started. During the backing up part of the chevron figure, the other dancers in the minor set cast up or down into the place vacated by the neighbor dancing the chevron. The overall effect is for the two couples to change places: this is the progression.
B1: The figure is chasse down one place (through the next twos), cast up two places (above original twos), and then chasse down one place. This leaves the ones where they started B1, in progressed place.
B2: If the double figure eight is too challenging, then partners back-to-back and two-hand turn is an acceptable alternative ending.
