Co-Chair of Onondaga Citizens League Study of Education in Central NY: 1997–1998
With Bea Gonzalez, SU Dean of University College, data were gathered during a yearlong process and reported to the community through a written report, radio, and live for a throughout the following year. The study concluded that there were great inequities within school districts and among school districts. There was a need to prepare teachers to communicate effectively with families and to integrate multicultural education across the curriculum in urban, rural, and suburban school districts. Finally, solutions to the problems were proposed. The written study report was sent to local community leaders.
