Gender, Race, Class, Sexuality, Ethnicity, Religious Faith – these are unavoidable and powerful aspects of social existence that greatly influence the contours of our lives, no matter who we are, where we go, or what we do. As faculty devoted to instruction, and as life learners ourselves, many of us find ourselves at various stages of growth, understanding, confusion and exhilaration as we wrestle with how, when, and even why to address these important issues in our courses.
