I am a theoretical astrophysicist with an interest in understanding the contents of the universe, especially the nature of dark matter and dark energy, through large sky surveys. I also have an interest in star populations and star formation in dwarf galaxies. I currently do research in the following topics:
  • Dark matter in Milky Way satellite galaxies; developing methods to accurately measure the amount and distribution of dark matter in dwarf satellite galaxies of the Milky Way by correcting for the effects of binary stars.
  • Binary populations in Milky Way satellite galaxies; developing methods to constrain properties of binary star populations in galaxies outside the Milky Way from spectroscopic data.
  • Gravitational lensing by intervening galaxies as a probe of modified gravity theories and galaxy formation history; investigating how supernova and quasar lenses observed by upcoming telescopes can be used to constrain such theories.
