AND INDIVIDUAL DYNAMICS OF THE DIALOGICAL SELF:
A FEMINIST AND CULTURE-HISTORICAL APPROACH
In examining the social/individual dynamics of the dialogical self I rely upon feminist and culture-historical theories. Both of these theories emphasize the central role of mutuality in development, the ways in which sustained psychological growth is supported by interdependence and connection, and how through interdependence we resist the wide-spread alienation in contemporary life. Illustrations will be drawn from collaborative partnerships among creative individuals.
