| The link on the home page with sample quiz questions is the one entitled Examinations. |
Beginning Thursday, February 3, our classroom will be Reilly Hall Room 438. |
| After tallying and totaling the poll on topics our final projects, these are the results. First, the death penalty. Second, abortion. Third, drug legalization. Fourth, immigration. Fifth, employment at will. Sixth, gun control. Depending on what happens to enrollment in the next week or so, we'll be doing at least the first four of these and possibly the first five. You should be thinking about which of these topics you would prefer remembering that you won't have any choice about which side of the issue you take. |
| Unfortunately I won't be able to have afternoon office hours either Tuesday (March 1) or Thursday (March 3) this week. I shall have my regular Thursday morning office hours and I'll be around part of the day Wednesday. If you need to see me and those times don't work for you, please send me an e-mail and we'll set up an appointment. |
| Language has been added to the journal assignment page to indicate the required font and margins. |
A major change has been made to the class schedule. This is reflected in the online syllabus but it is also made clear here. The change is that we shall be spending only one class instead of two on the topic "Law and Dispute Resolution" and we'll be spending two classes instead of one on "Researching Law in Society." Accordingly the following classes have been altered: Law and Dispute Resolution - March 22 Law and Social Change - March 24, 29, 31 Attorneys and the Legal System - April 5, 7 Researching Law in Society - April 12, 14 Reading assignments are adjusted accordingly. The quiz that was to be given on March 29 will now be given on March 24 and the quiz that was to be given on April 7 will now be given on April 5. Other items are unchanged. In particular, there is no change in the schedule for journals or for the case presentations. |
The specific topics for the case presentations are now listed in the link for case presentations. The participants on each side of each case will be listed there as well as soon as those are determined. |
The link for the case assignment now indicates which students are assigned to which topics and who is supporting the proposition and who is opposing it. Teams should now begin to meet and all of you should get to work! The dates of the various case presentations and the assignment for who acts a judges for each presentation are also now available in the case presentation link. |
The final examination will be on Monday, May 16, 3:00-5:30 p.m., Grewen 207 |
Many of you are required to make changes in the citations in your case presentation (or still need to provide an electronic copy) in order for your case presentation to be accepted. If you fail to do so (and Dolphy Day is no excuse) the paper will not be accepted and you will automatically receive a failing grade for the course. |
