Now that the kids are moving on with their lives you might ask yourself what I've been doing with all of my spare time? Well ...

Sewing has always been my main hobby. Over the years I've sewn just about everything from down-filled sleeping bags to dog beds. I've made many Halloween costumes and even taken in mending when money was tight.

Now that "my time is my own" I've concentrated on the two things that I enjoy most ... formal wear and custom window treatments.

During my days as an Army Wife I needed formal dresses and made almost all of them. I made my own wedding suit and just recently I made my friend's daughter's wedding dress.

When I bought my house it provided me with the perfect opportunity to experiment with different styles of window treatments. Here are a few examples of the windows I've dressed:

As much pleasure as sewing gives me, no discussion of my "spare time" would be complete without mentioning that special someone who makes me happy. Several months ago I met Joe on a blind date. Since them we've spent alot of time together. He treats me like a queen and is truly a blessing in my life.
