Current versions installed:
|
CLIO 3.6a [December 3, 2003]
CLIO Request 3.6a - is automatically installed when the CLIO install
is run.
|
Data Directory:
|
Clio data is stored in L:Common\CLIO\Cliodata.mdb (shared common).
Make sure that there is NO copy of cliodata on the local C: drive!!!!!
Should be backed up daily by IT (if there is any question about
this happening - it should be backed up to one fo the local computers
daily).
The first time you run CLIO it should ask where the CLIO
data file is stored - It is VERY important to set it correctly
at install or correcting the problems created can be difficult.
|
Access 2000 |
must be installed on the computer where CLIO is to be used. |
OCLC ILL MicroEnhancer
|
must be installed on the computer where CLIO is to be used. Install
Passport and ILL ME then copy the the OCLC apps directory from
an already installed computer using CLIO as there are special files
contained within that need to be moved over. |
General Setup notes:
Clio is set up on - (each has its own ID number A,B,C….) This helps
identify where the requests come from and to prevent overriding each
others work.
- Ariel workstation - A Reference
- Desk student computer - B
- Wayne's computer - C
- Mike's computer - D
- Reference Office - E
The settings do not appear to be transferable and have to be set up
on each computer for both CLIO and CLIO request. If they are not done
properly, CLIO won't work right.
There is a stand alone help file which is installed on each computer
called CLIO Help. A copy also lives in L:\Common\clio
.

CLIO Setup Notes
MicroEnhancer ILL:
Must be on each computer.
No work is actually done on the microenhancer other than
transfer data back and forth to OCLC and CLIO.
All the work should be done on CLIO or on OCLC Passport.
Particularly important is that the constant data be maintained
on CLIO not ILL-ME.
Messages that need to be transferred include (must be
set up in each microenhancer)

Fixing Problems
System crashes while in use
Error message is - Error in Check DB version 3343 Unrcognized database
format 'L:\COMMON\CLIO\cliodata.mdb
Database needs to be repaired.
Steps are
- Open Access
- Select Tools
- Select Database Utilities
- Select Compact and Repair Database
- It will prompt for the old database name (cliodata.mdb on L:)
- It will prompt for a new name - use cliodata_new.mdb
- The database will repair and convert
- rename the old file on L: to cliodata_corrupt_date.mdb
- copy the cliodata_new.mdb to L: and rename it to be cliodata.mdb
THIS TAKES LOTS OF DISKSPACE! Make sure you have enough on the network
drive before attempting!!!
The resulting cliodata.mdb file will be smaller than the originating
one (in most cases).
